Much to my poor husband's chagrin, I have been watching Star Trek
Voyager with what little free time I have had. This is an unusual occurrence for me, since I am a die hard
Original Series girl. As for Voyager, well, I have refuted it my entire
trekkie life as being an unworthy form of mindless entertainment.
Ridiculous, I know. If I'm going to waste my time, however, I going to do it with what I deem to be a worth while cause.
Recently
however, Netflix has had the grand courtesy of having all series of
Star Trek in their full season glory. Which has lead me to actually
watch Voyager. If I can watch it in cronological order, I'm curious
enough to watch the train wreck.
Now, when I was 12,
and seriously becoming to addicted to Star Trek, I would spend my
afternoons, when I had gotten home from school, waiting until 4 o'clock,
when reruns of TOS would grace the Sci-fi channel. Within that hour
block, I would yell at the t.v, suggesting to the characters that
couldn't hear me that they were idiots.
Now, in my early 20s, when I am married, finishing college, and about to
start my life in the real world, I am still yelling at fictional
characters, saying "You idiots! That is like animal x on Earth, and it
can do a, b, c, and probably d to kill you!"
Apparently, Star Trek, no matter how bad or fun, still gets in touch with my inner awkward child.
